The Black Horse is an award-winning inn dating back to the 1800s. Set across the road from the charming Pessal Brook which runs through the village green, we’ve kept the pub a peaceful place, so you can have a conversation beside the fire without the modern distractions. The pub boasts regular and guest ales along with an array of draught ciders and a large selection of wines.
The guest house is has a large lounge and bedroom with a choice of single and double rooms, necessary kitchen and washing amenities and we welcome all well-behaved dogs. Stroll out of the village for a country walk or find exciting activities within just a few miles.

The Heart of The National Forest...
The historic village of Coton in the Elms is set in the heart of the National Forest and is, according to the Ordnance Survey, the furthest village from the sea. There are lovely walks in every direction, so whether you want to go on a hike or short stroll, you’ll find some natural scenery.
Next to the village is Coton Wood which is home to eighty-five acres of mixed woodland. Local ducks have settled at the side of the pub and are free to wander around the village. The Black Horse does not serve food but we are a short stroll away from Bubble Inn Gastropub which serves an excellent menu.
There are plenty of things to see and do, like a visit to The National Forestry Centre for example which is close by. Three miles away, Catton Hall hosts many events from rock concerts to caravan rallies. Further afield, you have the National Brewery Museum and Twycross Zoo.
